چکیده

Abstract The waste tyre-derived products, including whole tyres, tyre bales, shreds, chips, and crumb rubber, have begun to be used in various geotechnical applications. In particular, the use of bales construction a lightweight embankment on soft ground has potential satisfy demand for low-cost materials exhibiting such beneficial properties. This paper presents comparison between common medium sand-filled two tyre-baled structures with granular interlayers: sand rubber aggregate. To assess efficiency bale application conditions, subsoils were considered study: sandy clay silty clay. stability settlement analysis embankments, as well subsoil bearing capacity checking, performed all structural cases. Bishop’s limit equilibrium slicing method finite element analysis. comprehensive testing filling was also carried out obtain set parameters both analyses. allowed qualitatively assessing effectiveness using road when founded ground. revealed that generally enhanced stability, effectively reduced settlement, normal stress subsoil. slip surface is located mostly within slope, showing good rotational independent conditions.

Applicability of Elastic Analysis for Predicting the Settlement Distribution Around Tunneling in Soft Ground (TECHNICAL NOTE)

In this article a brief review of the literature on the subject is cited. The method of analysis by a finite element program is discussed in which the effect of different influential parameters are examined. The results of these computations are then compared to the corresponding empirical data and two other existing formulae for two dimensional cases. The comparisons show quite reliable and ac...

settlement analysis of embankment with finite element method

it is correct control and monitoring of modern embankment dams that are very vital in the geotechniqual constructions. the improvement of methods of stability control, using the effective stress and the measurement of ganglionic water pressure in embankment dams cause more the safety for this kind of dams. nowedays there is such an idea that in stead of using of being safety factor against coas...

settlement analysis considerng sand mat induced initial settlement in soft ground improved by pbd

the ground improvement using plastic board drain (pbd) in soft soil was undertaken by sand mat formation, pbd installation, preloading surcharge, and removal of surcharge. during this procedure, the sand mat formation induced an initial settlement. however, it was very difficult to estimate that settlement due to pbd installation, which frequently destroyed the instruments installed in the grou...
